A TWO-MINUTE MEDITAION

 A Jot From John

Today’s Prayer: Father of light and Truth, Thou art our portion, yesterday, today and forever; we cannot be forsaken whilst Thou art with us. The winds that blow from heaven through Thy truth bring to our souls the fragrance of a better land. How wonderful Thou hast, through our faith in Thee, opened to us the gates of eternity that were locked; in just a moment of our belief Thou hast leveled the mountain that was high; and make plain the places that were rough. O God, increase Thou our belief, for we ask it in the Master’s name – AMEN.

Today’s Scripture: 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

Today’s Thought: We ought not to busy ourselves so exclusively with the matters that are temporal as to let pass by in neglect things which are eternal. “Acquaint now thyself with God, and be at peace with Him.” The Master taught “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

May God help us to understand that the things which are seen are temporal—flickering for a moment, fluttering in a dying spasm –“but the things which are not seen are eternal” – calm with the peace of our Father, guaranteed by the very duration of His Throne!
